Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor

Moye O’Brien represented the design-builder in developing and pursuing claims exceeding $650 million from the owner for project delays and project-wide disruption. Moye O’Brien also represented the design-builder in pursuing more than $100 million of claims from its designer and more than $130 million of claims from its electrical subcontractor. The disputes arose from a complex design-build project constructing an 8.5-mile-long light rail transit system connecting LAX Airport to Inglewood and the Historic Crenshaw District in Los Angeles. The project featured eight stations, including three underground stations, a mile of twin-bored tunnel, and six bridges—one of which spans 315 feet over I-405, the busiest and most congested freeway in the country.
