East Link Extension (E130): Seattle to South Bellevue

Moye O’Brien represented the General Contractor/Construction Manager in developing and pursuing claims, seeking more than $270 million from the project owner for the cost and schedule impacts associated with rebuilding the project’s concrete plinths. The dispute arose from a 7-mile extension of light-rail system from downtown Seattle to South Bellevue. The project featured two light rails stations; seismic, fire, and electrical upgrades at four existing structures, including a floating bridge; back of house upgrades to two tunnels; mainline tie-ins to the existing International District Station; cathodic protection systems; and track installations of all types (direct-fixed, embedded, ballasted, and pre-cast dual block, etc.).
